Duties: DevOps engineer is responsible for deploying and maintaining cloud-based infrastructure. The DevOps engineer configures Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to support application delivery and infrastructure deployment. Deployment and management of Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud infrastructure and platform services including creation of containerized deployments and infrastructure hardening. Configure infrastructure hardening and security monitoring tools for compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) by implementing National Institute of Standards Special Publication 800-53 (NIST SP 800-53). Development of Infrastructure as Code (IAC) automation using technologies including CloudFormation, Terraform, Serverless Framework or AWS Serverless Application Model (SAM). Creation of Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) automation including development of supporting code (e.g., Lambda Functions) including adherence to configuration management practices for software assurance. Configuring system maintenance (e.g., automated patching) and monitoring automation. Troubleshoot production issues in cloud-based environments by engaging support teams and assisting in the resolution of issues and formulating action plans. Implement system security controls, including security monitoring and infrastructure hardening. Address government security requirements, review and change management processes. Experience monitoring cloud billing, analyzing usage trends, and implementing automated alerts to keep management informed about current costs and potential savings opportunities.

Requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Management Information, Electronics & Communications Engineering Systems or a related field plus 4 years of experience in related occupations. Requires 4 years of experience in the following: AWS cloud infrastructure management; Amazon Web Services cloud infrastructure deployment using Infrastructure as Code: CloudFormation, Serverless Framework, Serverless Application Model; Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) automation including configuration management and software assurance; Cloud operations and production support. Requires 3 years of experience in the following: AWS network configurations: Virtual Private Cloud/Subnets, Transit Gateway; Implementing cloud security compliance controls for HIPAA and NIST SP 800-53 environments; AWS cost monitoring and optimization. Telecommuting is permitted.
